Expressions Dance & Arts is a family friendly dance and performing arts studio. We opened in September 2012 and moved to a new studio location in July 2021 (4811 Hopyard Rd Suite G-6, Pleasanton). We provide dance instruction for all ages in a welcoming, supportive and professional atmosphere. Expressions focuses on the artistry, love and joy of dance, and we recognize that students benefit from a balance of family, school, community and the arts.

Expressions was selected as the 2015 Best Business of Pleasanton in the category of Dance Schools. In 2016, Expressions was awarded the "Studio Excellence" award from Next Level Dance for showing exemplary leadership and kindness within the studio and the community. The Expressions Performance Team has danced in numerous showcases, festivals, Disney Parades, Pleasanton Holiday Parades, as well as at sporting events including at the NBA Golden State Warriors, and at theme parks such as Disneyland, Great America, and Six Flags. Team dancers have been invited to New York City and Australia for special performances. Our instructors have been honored with awards for choreography; awards for motivating, challenging and inspiring their students; and awards for demonstrating excellence in education in the arts.

At Expressions, all students receive high-quality dance instruction from experienced staff. We offer classes in jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop, musical theater, lyrical, contemporary and fusions of these styles for AGE 2 - ADULT. Many studio parents enjoy our adult Dance and Fitness classes.

We feature Recreational Dance Classes with in-studio seasonal performances, Recital Dance Classes with seasonal in-studio performances and a performance at our formal recital, and a Performance Dance Team that performs at Bay Area dance festivals, sporting events, and talent contests as well as state and local Pleasanton events and at our annual formal recital. 

Expressions promotes an appreciation of dance and the arts in an encouraging environment. Our goal is to help all students reach their maximum dance potential and for parents to enjoy their child's dance journey. Expressions Dance & Arts looks forward to being part of that journey.

1) What Does My Child Wear To Class? What is your dRESS CODE?

Dancers should wear proper dance attire and shoes for their style of dance.

2) Does my child have to be in a recital?

YES, if taking a Team or Recital class.

NO, if taking a non-recital class.

We offer 3 levels of dance commitment.

Recital Dance classes have seasonal performances in the studio and perform on stage at our formal recital in June. Recital costume is required. Recital is a fun celebration of a year of dance accomplishments. 

     **Please Note: If enrolled in a Recital class, participation in Recital is expected. 

Performance Dance Team classes are for dancers interested in additional performance opportunities at dance festivals, talent shows, local and state events, as well as our formal recital. Dancers must audition for Team and take required classes in addition to Team classes. Team classes perform in Recital.

Recreational Dance includes non-recital classes that feature small in-studio performances for family in December and May. No costumes needed. Includes the same level of instruction as other classes.

3) Can my child take a free trial class?

Yes. We offer a free trial class for new students, in classes with available space. Please email to set up your trial class. ***based on available space in class***

4) How do I pay tuition?

Tuition can be payed online by credit card when you register, and will be collected by autopay on the 1st of each month. Our online system uses a 3rd party credit card collection system for cyber security, and EDA will not have access to your credit card information. To drop a class for a subsequent month, a 2-week notice by email is all that is required.

5) Is dance a year-round commitment?

Only if you want to dance for the entire year. We offer classes from August - May or June, and we also have a short summer session in July. There is no long-term commitment; however, space is limited in classes and we cannot save a space for your dancer if you wish to take a break during the school year. 

Please Note: We plan classes based on enrollment, and require a 2-week notice, by email, to drop a class for a subsequent month.

6) When is your 2023 recital?

Annual Recital is MAY 27, 2023 at Dublin High School. Dress Rehearsal is  MAY 25, 2023.
